Spring clean
It’s that time of year- time to clear out, clean up and reset your home!
Clear out
- Organise any items you'd like to get rid of into piles to throw away, resell or donate.
- If you've not used an item in a while, why not think about selling or donating it? You could use Facebook Marketplace, eBay, Vinted or a local charity shop.
- Please make sure to dispose of items properly. Use the right bins for your recycling and take bigger items to a household waste site. Did you know that most Local Authorities provide a bulky waste service, where they will collect your large rubbish items for a fee? Have a look and see what they offer! If you do arrange for your Local Authority to collect your rubbish, please leave a note on the items to let us know who is collecting them and when, so that we know it hasn't been fly-tipped.
Clean up
- Tidy one room at a time, this'll help you to clean efficiently and reduce stress!
- Dust as you go - cleaning each room as you finish it reduces the need for a huge house clean.
- Challenge yourself - a new trend online is a speed clean! Set yourself a timer and see what you can achieve in that time.
- Check that rooms are in good condition. If you find any damage while you're cleaning, let us know so we can help! Some things may be your responsibility to fix - you can find out more about who is responsible for what in our Repairs Guide.
- Treat your bathroom and kitchen to a deep clean! Check that all tiles are in good condition and let us know if not. Report any issues with damp, mould or condensation here.
