Contractors join forces to spruce up scheme
Staff from across Stonewater, Pinnacle and Wates have worked together to give a Bedfordshire neighbourhood a spring clean during a recent community day.
Colleagues from across the organisations went along to Paddlers Court to help tidy up the area and do some repairs to communal areas for customers in the area.
The team were on hand to do some landscaping, general tidying and grounds maintenance, and were also able to do some adaptations for customers with disabilities at the scheme.
One customer from Paddlers Court said: “I had a few issues with the cleaning. However, today I spoke to the supervisor of our new cleaning contractors who I felt listened and I was happy with the suggestions he’s made.”
Another customer said: “It was great to speak to Stonewater officers face to face, and meet the new grounds maintenance team. I know I can now approach them when they visit if there is a particular area we feel needs attention.”
James Harrison from Pinnacle said: “It was a really productive day and both the grounds maintenance and cleaning teams enjoyed working together with Stonewater staff to make some really positive changes to the whole site. I know the residents seemed really pleased with what has been done there.”
Helen Holland, Connected Communities Peer Leader at Stonewater, said: “For me, it was great opportunity to talk to customers and listen to their views and ideas on their community. Working with our colleagues across Stonewater as well as with our contractors, it wasn’t just just apparent visually when we left the scheme how much things had improved, but it was also through the positive feedback we had received from customers.”
If you have any ideas or suggestions for improvements that can be made to your community, send an email to customers@stonewater.org.
