Rent and service charge review
support from Stonewater
We know that the increases to your rent and service charges is not welcome news, and we want you to know what support is available to you if you’re not sure what this means or if you’re worried about paying them.
Rent
Just like the cost of things like food, gas, electricity and other necessities, the cost of delivering the services we provide has increased too.
So that we can keep delivering services such as repairs and maintenance to our homes, retirement living, specialist support for people fleeing domestic violence and building new homes to tackle the housing crisis, we have made the difficult decision to increase rents in line with the Government’s guidelines.
You can find out more about why we have increased rents just here.
Service charges
In the same way that rent has gone up due to rising costs, our service charges have had to be increased so that we can keep providing them to you.
So that we can keep these as low as possible, we divide the total costs of services such as grounds maintenance, communal electricity, heating and others between the customers who receive them, making sure that each customer only pays their share.
We’re not allowed to make any money from service charges and anything we charge goes directly to paying for them but, unfortunately, the cost of delivering these services has been impacted by inflation.
