Mobile associates
our feet on the ground
It’s been around a year since we piloted our Mobile Associates, and we’re really pleased with the progress they’ve been making to support you where you live.
Since last year, we’ve recruited around 40 Mobile Associates working across the country to help you with those issues which need the human touch, and since November 2022 they’ve completed around 2,500 visits to our communities.
When you report issues to us and we feel like it could do with the support of one of our Mobile Associates, we send them out to see what they can find out. This might be for issues such as:
- Estate Inspections and General Risk Assessments
- Sourcing communal keys and access information
- Neighbourhood Issues e.g. fly-tipping, the management of communal areas and abandoned vehicles
- Tenancy issues e.g. property and garden inspections, subletting and abandoned property investigations
- Rent arrears visits
- Meeting contractors on site
Our Mobile Associates have also started doing estate inspections to spot things that need a bit more attention. Between the team, we plan to complete around 4,000 of these per year, linking up with customers and our Community Champions to see how we can improve your neighbourhood for everyone.
Fire risk assessments
One of the things that our Mobile Associates Team has been working on during their visits is helping us to take action on any potential risks for you and your neighbours in any of your communal areas.
Personal items stored in corridors, near stairs or any communal spaces can be extremely dangerous in the event that anyone needs to get in or out quickly.
Any items left in these areas can cause trips and falls which could result in serious injuries. If there’s an emergency, you could also be blocking the way for the fire service, paramedics or the police who are trying to get to someone quickly. You can help us to keep everyone safe by not storing any personal belongings such as scooters, bikes, pushchairs or any waste in these areas.
This is the reason that, in the interest of health and safety, we’ll ask you to move these items or, if we’ve had no response, we’ll arrange to have them disposed of if they’ve been there for a while. If this happens, we’ll always work with you and do our best to let you know why we’ve asked you to move them.
We understand that items such as scooters and pushchairs are not always easily stored in your home, and sometimes we can support you to find an alternative place to keep them to help keep you and your neighbours safe. If you think you need some support for this, get in touch and our team will do what they can to help.
