Get involved!
On 29th April, we held a Facebook Live and Direct event all about how we’re working to keep your voice at the heart of everything we do.
We were joined by colleagues from customer communications and engagement, our partnerships team who work closely with local services to connect you with the right support, our neighbourhoods team, who tackle communal issues, and employability and training, who help you to access opportunities and develop new skills.
We were also thrilled to be joined by Trevor, a member of our customer Scrutiny Panel who is really active in his community.
Trevor shared his journey and gave honest insight from a customer’s point of view.
The panel talked about what it means to be involved, who can take part, what our scrutiny panel does and all the different ways we connect with you in your communities.
“I live in a retirement living scheme. I noticed there was a lot of communal space that wasn’t being used. So, I took it upon myself to start up a community action group, collaborating with the scheme manager.
Now, over four years later, we hold bingo sessions every weekend, we have food nights, we have cheese and wine nights. One of the residents has become a gardener and has built some flowerbeds that he looks after. And, you know, a lot of the feedback we’re getting is that people, especially those on their own, now feel they can use the space and get to know other people. So, we’ve built a really good community feel within the scheme.”
