Bow Court customers get crafty to complete garden makeover
Customers at Bow Court, Swindon, have worked together to spruce up their garden for summer.
Working with a Zurich Challenge team, made up of 12 volunteers from the insurance company, and Stonewater staff, residents at the scheme got stuck in to help create a new patio area, some raised beds for growing herbs and vegetables, as well as some general tidying.
A friend of the group also made a donation so the team could complete a mosaic mirrored art project for the garden. Stonewater was also able to part fund the project through its Community Investment Grant.
The Zurich Challenge Team were on hand to lay the new patio area, build the raised beds, paint fencing and trim some of the overgrown shrubs, while the Bow Court customers did some planting, painting and crafting to make the mosaic.
Bow Court is a specialist housing scheme that supports adults with learning difficulties to live independently. The garden improvements will help customers living there to enjoy some fresh air and connect with each other, which is vital in helping to tackle social isolation and improve wellbeing.
