Your home
If your home is no longer suitable for you and your family, there are options available to you.

Mutual exchange
This allows you to swap properties with customers living in one of our homes, as well as customers from other housing associations or local authorities.
There are some conditions you'll need to meet before you can do a mutual exchange:
- You must be up to date with your rent payments.
- Your tenancy agreement must allow swaps.
- We’ll also need to inspect your current home.
We can help you to register for HomeSwapper, the UK's largest platform for people in social housing who want to move. We're also looking at ways to help people connect for mutual exchanges, so you can see if you’re a good match.
Please note that HomeSwapper is our only preferred mutual exchange method. We do not endorse any other third-party sites.
Overcrowding
We recognise the impact that overcrowding can have on your health and wellbeing.
Over the year, we've:
- Helped over 113 overcrowded households to move to a more suitable home.
- Completed extensions to some of our homes.
- Provided advice and support with storage solutions.
We can help you with registering with your local authority (council) and making sure you’re in the correct priority band, which will let you to bid on homes from different providers in your area, increasing your chances of finding a home that suits you sooner.
You could also consider a mutual exchange.
For eligible customers who arrange their own mutual exchange, where one household is moving from an overcrowded home and another from an under-occupied one, we’ll offer £500 to each household to help with moving costs.
If you need any help or support with registering for a mutual exchange, or are concerned regarding an overcrowding situation, please reach out to us.
Do you charge safe?
Fires involving lithium batteries are one of the fastest growing fire risks nationwide.
Whilst e-bikes and e-scooters offer a great way to get around, their batteries can start dangerous fires when damaged. Within minutes, a battery fire can spread out of control.
To help keep you and your home safe:
- Make sure to buy your e-bike or e-scooter (and the batteries and charger) from a reputable seller.
- Never block escape routes with your e-bike or e-scooter and avoid charging batteries by your front door or any other escape route.
- Always use the correct charger for your battery.
- Never leave your e-bike or e-scooter unattended while charging – including while you’re sleeping!
- Never modify or tamper with the batteries.
- Regularly test your fire and smoke alarms to make sure if they work.
