Everyday heroes making a difference in their neighbourhood

We’re celebrating our Community Champions, who go above and beyond to make sure their community is the best it can be.

Our Community Champions are often the heart and soul of their local area, and we’d like to shine the spotlight a few of their achievements.

During 2024 our dedicated volunteers completed 118 neighbourhood walkabouts, telling us about issues like missed grounds maintenance visits, fly-tipping or abandoned cars.

Their feedback helped us to make improvements locally, such as dealing with overgrown trees, improving paths and parking and installing new lighting to improve safety and accessibility.

Freda, an experienced Community Champion, suggested putting ‘what can I recycle?’ stickers on bins – a simple idea that has really helped make sure waste is separated properly!

Community Champions make a lasting impact where they live. A community thrives when we work together!
