Meet Trevor
Our Scrutiny Chair!
Hi, my name is Trevor Kerby, and I’m the newly elected Chair of Stonewater’s Scrutiny Panel.
I’ve been a Stonewater customer for four years now. In my spare time, I enjoy activities that allow me to unwind and connect with others, whether that’s spending time with family, volunteering locally, or pursuing personal interests.
I joined the Scrutiny Panel in July of 2024 because I wanted to make a genuine difference for customers and the wider community.
Over the past year, being part of the panel has taught me that collaboration and constructive feedback can lead to tangible improvements. I’ve learned the importance of speaking up, working as a team, and making sure that different voices are heard in review discussions.
Every meeting and every review has shown me how small changes - when planned carefully - can have a broader and deeply positive impact for customers.
Stepping into the role of Chair is a meaningful milestone. It feels both exciting and challenging. I am grateful for the trust placed in me by my fellow panel members and determined to honour it by keeping our work focused and inclusive.
One of my goals is to increase the panel’s visibility in Stonewater. I want customers and members of staff to recognise the panel for the constructive role it plays in reviewing decisions and recommending improvements.
Increasing the diversity of the panel is also a key priority. I want to reach out to more tenants, young people, shared owners, and leaseholders, welcoming new perspectives and encouraging broader representation. This means actively linking with other engaged groups and making sure that everyone who wants to contribute feels invited and supported to do so.
I’ll also be setting aside time to develop my skills through training courses and opportunities like the National Tenant Conference next July.
Serving as Chair is an opportunity to help Stonewater’s Scrutiny Panel grow stronger and make a meaningful difference. I’m very excited for what lies ahead, confident that together we can build an even more active and inclusive panel for everyone.
Trevor shared more about his experience as an engaged customer in April’s Facebook Live and Direct, where we talked about how we’re working to keep your voice at the heart of everything we do.
