Support at the right time can change lives

We know that the right support at the right time can make a big difference. Whether you need help with money, employment, domestic abuse or living independently, we're here to help.

Supporting survivors of domestic abuse

Everyone deserves to feel safe in their home. This year, we continued to support people affected by domestic abuse through our specialist refuge and community services and our Domestic Abuse Intervention team.

We achieved SafeLives Leading Lights and DAHA accreditation during the year, providing independent assurance of the quality of our specialist domestic abuse services and our wider organisational response to domestic abuse. This demonstrates our commitment to providing safe, effective and trauma-informed support for survivors.

During 2025-26:

  • In our accommodation services, we supported 198 adults and 162 children affected by domestic abuse.
  • 82% achieved a positive move-on and were supported to move into safe, sustainable accommodation and rebuild their lives and support networks.
  • 100% of survivors said they felt safer.
  • 96% reported improvements across health, well-being, relationships and financial independence.
  • Our Domestic Abuse Intervention (DAI) team opened 377 specialist cases for customers experiencing domestic abuse in their homes.
  • The DAI team managed 1,843 Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC)* enquiries and contacts, with 97% of customers contacted within 24 hours.

We’ve seen an increased demand for services during 2025-26 and know that our support is more important than ever.

*A MARAC brings together services such as the police, health, housing, probation and child protection to coordinate protection for victims and their children.

You told us that support isn’t always about housing - it can be about money, well-being or confidence.

So, through our Circles of Support programme, delivered with trusted partners, Stonewater customers continued to access free emotional and financial wellbeing services.

Whether it’s managing money worries, improving financial confidence or accessing counselling, these services helped people build stability and look ahead with confidence.

Throughout the year, we worked with organisations including Age UK, local health services and community groups to improve well-being and reduce isolation.

Projects this year included:

  • Health and well-being events,
  • Vaccine clinics,
  • Community activities,
  • and specialist support for survivors of domestic abuse.

At South Hampshire Women's Refuge, the children's playroom was refurbished with support from Kids Out, creating a better environment for families recovering from trauma.

Meanwhile, at our Brighton refuge, volunteers from Wickes improved outdoor and communal spaces, including building a summer house, creating a sandpit, repainting shared areas and carrying out repairs.

These improvements have helped create a more welcoming and supportive environment.

“This has felt life changing.”
You told us that support should help people build confidence and independence.

So, we continued investing in employability, training and skills support, including apprenticeships, graduate opportunities, hosting employability workshops and referring customers to our partners, such as Clean Slate, for additional support.
