Longleigh Foundation

Hello

from Longleigh Foundation

Hi, I’m Aileen Edmunds, Chief Executive of Longleigh Foundation.

Since 2015, we’ve been working with Stonewater to support customers with individual grants for everyday essentials like cookers, fridge freezers, and energy vouchers.

But we do more than that, we also fund emotional and financial wellbeing services, and we invest in research to make social housing better for everyone.

This year, we’ve made it easier to apply for support by updating our grants criteria. And later this year, we’re launching a new website to help people find what they need more easily.

Thanks to your feedback, we’re building a clearer vision for Longleigh. A vision that reflects who we are today and where we’re going.

People helped

To the 600+ Stonewater customers we supported this year, thank you. Your stories and voices help shape everything we do.

I’m really excited about what’s ahead, and I hope you are too.

Support that makes a real difference

“Longleigh helped me improve my quality of life by providing items I couldn’t afford. Knowing my daughter and I were getting beds was a huge relief.”

Sarah, grant recipient

This year, we helped 630 Stonewater customers with essentials like cookers, fridge freezers, and energy vouchers, helping people feel safe, comfortable, and supported at home.

Here’s what that looked like:

  • On average, customers received £865 through grants.
  • 98% of grant applications were approved.
  • Fast, flexible support was provided when it was needed most.

Support for your wellbeing

Everyone needs support from time to time, from dealing with money worries to managing mental wellbeing. Our Circles of Support programme funds free, confidential services exclusively available for Stonewater customers.

This year, the Circles of Support programme helped customers with:

  • Financial wellbeing - delivered by Clean Slate.
“I’ve cleared some of my debts, contacted my landlord, and my energy debt is on hold. I’m not scared anymore. Thank you.”
  • Emotional wellbeing - delivered by Kaleidoscope Group Counselling.
“This counselling service has completely turned my life around. I finally felt heard and supported.”

Making social housing better for everyone

We fund research that brings your voice into the decisions that affect your home, your community, and your future.

This year, we began two new projects:

Tenants at the Table: exploring how customers can shape housing decisions that affect their lives.

Rural Housing Challenges: highlighting the unique experiences and challenges of people living in rural communities.

These projects have both since been completed. Click the links above to check out the results!

What’s new this year

We’ve listened to your feedback and taken action:

  • Easier application process, with updated grants criteria.
  • New website coming soon.
  • Clearer values and mission that reflect who we are today.
  • Sharing real customer voices from grantees like Sarah, Stuart, and more.
